When The Toyota Saltwater Fishing Expo debuted three years ago, the buzz from the fishing industry was simply this: That’s a great idea, a show devoted to saltwater fishing, in the heart of a region chock-full of saltwater anglers.

The expo —taking place Friday through today, March 20 through 22, at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset—is the Northeast’s only saltwater fishing show this side of New England.

And it’s right in your own back yard.

Exhibitors cover every aspect of the sport: inshore and offshore fishing, light- and big-game tackle, and anything between.

Grab a deal on gear at special show prices. See the newest tackle from manufacturers. Compare or choose a new boat or motor. Book practically any type of saltwater trip, from a charter with a local captain to an exotic-resort vacation.

Or enjoy seminars, free with admission, on topics including surf casting; striped bass fishing; fluking; blackfishing; near-shore fishing for tuna,
bonito, false albacore, mahi mahi and king and Spanish mackerel;
fly-rodding for sailfish; castnetting and more.

TV star Jose Wejebe from The Spanish Fly will be on hand for a Saltwater Questions and Answers seminar, also free with admission.

Take the New Jersey Boating Safety Certifcate Test-Out for the state mandated fee of $25.
