A seminar on the Saltwater Angler Registry will be offered at the Garden State Outdoor Sportsmen's Show at 11 a.m. Sunday, January 11. 


NOAA released a Final Rule on the Saltwater Angler Registry on December 23 that requires recreational anglers and spearfishers in federal ocean waters to be included in the national Saltwater Angler Registry by January 1, 2010.  NOAA had originally proposed that registration be required beginning in January 2009, but based on public input decided to give states another year to put in place their own data collection systems.  More information about the rule is available at www.CountMyFish.noaa.gov.
