Looking for something different to do this summer?

Something's that's free?

Then plan a visit to the Pequest Trout Hatchery and Natural Resource Education Center!

Located in Warren County and open seven days a week from 10 until 4, Pequest is the perfect destination for a trip to the country.

Whether a toddler or a fly fisher with decades of experience, Pequest provides a unique experience.

Children love seeing the monster trout in the demonstration raceway in front or with a fish eye's view of trout in the indoor tank.

Interactive exhibits and displays will engage and inform children in a way no other facility in the state can.

And adults will gain a new appreciation for the NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife's trout stocking program and how 600,000 trout are raised for public angling.

There are also hiking trails through a variety of habitats.

Wildlife, including bald eagles, can be observed.

Picnic areas provide a shady place for lunch, and a riverside parking area provides access for anglers or just viewing one of the state's top trout waters, the Pequest River.

A full schedule of family programs is offered, at no charge, for those looking to broaden their horizons.

Pequest is the perfect place to learn basic fishing skills - equipment is provided!

For more information about Pequest, including directions, visit http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/pequest.htm on the Division's website.
