Opening day
of summer flounder
season on the
party boat Keeper,
Margate, last weekend
on Saturday.
Visit Keeper's
Web site.

The fishing,
on the back bay,
has been good, a little
slow on a couple of
afternoons, but
not bad at all,
a report said.
A few weakfish and
blues were also
reeled aboard. Above,
a 6-pound flounder.
Visit Keeper's
Web site.

The 4-hour trips
for flounder, sailing
twice daily, are
only $25 on the
pontoon boat, because
the bay is nearby,
and the vessel
is economical on fuel.

Web site.

Coolness.
Sea bass season
was opened Sunday,
and Parker Pete’s
Fishing Charters,
Belmar, went after
them on the ocean
Tuesday. The fishing
started slowly, but
became good. Ling
were also landed,
and 20 sizeable,
out-of-season
blackfish were released.

Then, bunker schools
were seen on
the way home,
and striped bass
were tackled
among them.

How’s that
for a mixed bag
of delicious dinners?
Charters are fishing,
and spaces for
individuals are available.

Summer flounder,
baby! Photo from

That's all he
said. Ha!

Next up:
Lake fishing for
walleyes and muskies.
A trip last weekend
aboard trolled
Greenwood Lake,
above, with no luck,
during daytime. But
that should change,
and walleyes already
tore up waters
at night. Special
night trips aboard,
unique outings, go
after them.

Summer flounder
season opened
with a bang
on the back bay
with Jersey Cape
Guide Service,
Sea Isle City.
Lots were hung.

Don’t forget blues.
They bit in
the bay, too.
Visit Jersey Cape Guide Service's Web site.

So did weakfish.
And striped bass,
not shown in
these shots, for
that matter. That’s
called a grand
slam: All the
bay’s sportfishing
species were in.
Lots of trips
spin- and fly-rodded
them aboard. Take
an afternoon, after-
work trip, an
ideal time for
the angling.
