Fluke fishing improved somewhat in the ocean off Elberon and Long Branch on a trip with Fish Monger Charters, Brielle, though the fishing was still heavy on shorts and sea bass. But six keeper fluke, including 5-pounders, and sea bass made the cooler. Monger Marathons, weekly, open-boat trips for fluke that were BYOB--bring your own bucktail--were underway.
