Echo Micro Practice Rod from Rajeff Sports

One day of missed practice takes two to catch back up, musicians say.

So if a fly fisher takes the winter off, how long do the casting skills take to get back?

Too long, at least.

Rajeff Sports, the famous
fly caster Tim Rajeff's company, developed the Micro Practice Rod for practicing fly casting in convenience, like indoors in your living room.

The miniature rod, part of the company’s Echo brand of full-sized rods
for actual fishing, might look like a toy, the company says.

But the rod, line and leader are precisely matched to imitate real casting, as accurately as possible, it says.

Winter isn’t the only
time the rod can come
in handy, though.

Many anglers use
the micro at home throughout the fishing season to bone up
on casting.

The skills they gain indoors create better casting on the waters,
the company says.

The rope fly line even provides enough drag on a carpet to practice roll casting or one-handed spey casting.

The two-piece rod comes with the line, leader, a compact, plastic case and a fundamental casting instruction pamphlet from Tim Rajeff.
