PowerPro Hollow Ace

Remember playing
with a Chinese finger trap as a kid?

You stuck a finger
in the end of the woven bamboo
tube, tried to pull the finger back out, but the finger became stuck, because the
weave tightened
with the pull.

Shimano's old PowerPro Hollow Core braided line achieved a similar effect for splicing.

But now the company has kicked it up a notch.

PowerPro Hollow Ace, being introduced to the market in late February, is a new hollow core.

Hollow core was made to splice monofilament into the braid by inserting the mono a ways inside.

The braid cinches down on the mono, creating a splice without knots, loops or swivels that could get hung up in the rod eyes.

Hollow Ace is built for superior connection-strength and durability.

It’s also meant for incredible abrasion resistance and strength-to-diameter ratio

The line comes in six sizes: 40-, 60-, 80-, 100-, 130- and 200-pound.

It comes in white, yellow or blue in spools of 100, 500, 1,500 or 3,000 yards.
