Calusa Cast Nets

Almost nothing gets the juices flowing for an angler like the sight of baitfish schooling.

That’s because nothing much
can gain more attention from hungry, predator fish.

So anglers can hardly go
wrong by fishing with live or
dead baitfish.

Castnets that an angler throws or casts are the usual tool for catching the bait.

Calusa Cast Nets are some of the best-known.

The nets are made to feel softer, throw easier and lie flatter, the company says.

Calusa’s are handmade with high-quality monofilament.

They come in mesh
sizes ¼ inch to 1 ½ inches to catch baits
from 2-inchers, like
small peanut bunkers,
to the largest baits, like foot-long menhaden.

They range from slow sinking to very fast sinking and are heavy, weighing 1 ½ pounds per foot. In other words, a 10-foot net weighs 15 pounds.

The company also makes Cracker Cast Nets that are the econo version.
