Seabait

You’ve brought killer lures, flies and rigs with looks and action to draw a strike on your fishing trip.

But if that fails, you’ve got bait, in case something tasty is the only way to attract a chomp down.

So the bases--sight, feel and taste--are covered.

Wait.

What about smell?

No worries.

Seabait’s got you covered.

Seabait, from Bio Edge Fishing Products, produces scents to attract striped bass, fluke, blues, weakfish, winter flounder, cod, porgies, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, trout, catfish or nearly any fish.

Two types of scents are offered.

Seabait Potions are liquid scents in 2-ounce squirt bottles for soft-plastic lures, flies, dead baits or anything absorbent.

Seabait Wands are solid scents used like ChapStick to coat non-absorbent hard-plastic or metal lures, and also leaders, sinkers or other terminal tackle. The scent from the wands also lasts longer than liquid can.

Both are available in saltwater scents including sandworm, bloodworm, clam, crab, squid, herring, mackerel and shrimp. Both are also available in freshwater scents including nightcrawler, smelt and fish egg. More scents are being developed.

Both are made from concentrated oils, amino acids, enzymes and pheromones found in the natural baits. "Our product smells and tastes like natural bait, because it is!" the company says.

The scents attract fish, encourage them to hold on to the hook longer than without, and can mask scents like sunscreen or fuel, the company says.

The scents also create a trail of scent, so they can be used for trolling.

Now your bases are covered.
