Good evening all. I fished 7 Presidents Oceanfront Park at the surf this am 08/10 from 440 am until 10 am. High tide was about 5am with fairly calm water but some good waves. In between my 5 hours fishing all my action came within 5 and 8 o clock..and the hits were huge. I last fished here a few weeks back and landed a bunch of 2-5 pound blues. This time was a little different. At sunrise it seemed every cast was followed by a fluke bite. I successfully reeled in 5 fluke while losing 5 or 6 others as i got them to the sand and the outgoing waves helped get them off my line. (I'm still learning to fish better) Also i had bunch more bites, including one BIG fluke that i lost easily 24+ inches. Biggest I caught was 22 inches another was 19, the rest were all shorts but it was a great morning with a beautiful sunrise. I was shocked to even be catching them to begin with as I was using a bluefish KastMaster lure. The fluke were hitting anything moving.. Also I picked up a few small blues up to 18 inches putting up a good fight. The tide is working with the sunrise the next couple of days as well so i expect it might be just as good fishing so I'll be heading back in a few hours to do it all again, hope to see ya there. -Joe |
