9/17 Sat was a good trip went to Romer Shoals light house and anchored up in 4-5 ft waves. Caught 3 stripers on clams by 11;00 AM Almost went overboard pulling up the anchor when a big wave came bow 1st. Went down the beach and got into birds working a school of 5-10 lb Blues caught another striper under the blues. went to the tip of the hook fluking with wind against tide but still caught 2 keepers. Went off of bug light and anchored up with the Progy fleet, boated 14 in 3/4 hour all nice fat keepers. We were quite amused watching a crew of 4 people on a boat trying to set anchor for 30 minutes when they finally got it all the other boats cheered. let for port at 3:30 pm of course the best catch of the day was my 1st Mate and wife Annette. |
