December 19th. Fishing with Joe Massa and Gregg of Liberty Landing. The action was non stop from about noon to dusk on the Shrewsbury Rocks. Stripers to 15 pounds, huge blue fish and spiny dog fish. Worked under the birds which were spread out for miles. Metal lures of all kinds, droped to the bottom with a slow retrive up. Used a teaser tiped with a yellow gulp. Numerous double hook ups, how about an 8 pound spiny dog fish with a keeper bass. Saw three right fin whales heading North by the Sandy Hook Reef. Don't put your boats away yet. Lots of sand eels still around. Merry Christmas. |
