Went surf fishing at Island Beach State Park Tuesday, 12/20/2005. A game warden was at the entrance with a trap. Lost a fish on my first cast with a sassy shad at Giliken's then caught 4 there on a Red Fin and bucktail teaser. At the bathing area I caught 3 then at area 3 I caught 8. Brother John caught 4 on a Storm shad and bucktail teaser. We got no hits at most stops. Brother John snapped off his rig with 10 lb Fireline but was able to catch his line with his backup rig. I caught my 100th IBSP striped bass of the year and tagged my 100th IBSP striped bass of the year. Caught my last fish at 5:05 PM past 2 days. Fish hit close to the beach after sun down. Old Anton said that there is a wrecked boat at the inlet with a large stainless steel prop. Will try again today. Retirement is good.
