Caught 55 striped bass in the Island Beach State Park surf past 8 trips. Tagged 54 and kept a 6 lber 12/22/2005 because it swallowed my red fin and was bleeding. Fished 8 of past 9 days. Brother John caught 36 shorts on plastic minnows and teasers. I caught all of my fish on a red fin and bucktail teaser. Last week the fish were next to the beach after sun down. I saw 1 jump out of the ocean after my lure 3 times before I caught it. The fish never came in this week because the water was too rough and dirty. I'll try again today. Yesterday tagged my 500th fish this year. A striper that I tagged at IBSP in Oct got caught in Brigantine in Nov for my 191th fish tag return and 13th this year. All of the stripers are now less than 18". |
