I was on that saturday trip on the norma k 3 as well. I think that it is wrongfor blaming the captain and his inabilty to anchor over the wreck. As you may recall conditions were brutal that day, tide wind and current all going in a different direction. You fished for more than 2 hours it just may not have been as much time as you would have hoped for anyone that fishes party boats this time of year will be able to tell you that anchoring in those conditions is not a 2 minute ordeal. As for the lack of fish on that trip look no further than the fact that as we were leaving the dock 3 commercial boats were unloading a huge amount of fish from thier days endavour. They were loaded with ling and cod and probably didn't stop fishing until they took evreything that was within ten mile radius from where we were fishing. It is a cop out to blame the captain he wants you to catch fish just as much as you do. One thing that did trouble me about that trip was as we wre leaving the boat the mate had a handful of dollar bills in his hand trolling for tips plain tacky from my point of view. It is usually a class operation over there so thats why i was surprised. When i catch fish i tip when i don't catch i dont tip unless the crew has done something extraordinary. |
