Fished Delaware River Saturday, 1/21/2006, for 3.25 hrs with 1/16 oz yellow jig, 2" chartreuse grub tail and 2 lb test ultralight outfit. Had 1 hit and hooked a 10 lb+ musky that jumped completely out of the water and threw my lure. Tried a Yozuri plug on a heavy outfit but it wouldn't hit again. Saw 3 boats in the river and 5 bank fisherman. One guy caught and released 3 large catfish on bait. Caught nothing past 2 Delaware River trips and 1 small pond trip. The guy that weighed in the 29 lb 6 oz striper at Betty and Nick's Bait and Tackle showed up at the river Sunday and said that he caught a 30 lber at Manasquan on a big jig last week. He also said that he has been catching large stripers at Manasquan at night on big jigs for the past several winters. |
