Fished a small pond in central NJ 03/13/2006. The mosquitos got me. Caught a 4" largemouth. Fishing there is really bad. Tried the Delaware River at night for 1 hr. Caught 10" crappie then 21" walleye with my US Reel Supercaster 225 ultralight spinning outfit, 2 lb test Trilene XT and 1/16 oz black jig with 1.5" grub tail. The walleye swallowed my lure and was hooked near its epiglottis. I was able to remove the hook through its gills and released it unharmed. Saw large fish slashing across the surface of the river making white water. Brother John caught and released 36" striped bass this morning in the river on a large jig. Brother Joe said that a lot of stripers were caught in Oyster Creek.
