Hey Derek, for some reason my reponse keeps getting rejected. But to answer your question, Sandy Hook is a prime spot to surf fish for blues and stripers. I'd say around the end of April/Begining of May. The blues are usually small and skinny. The big blues come around in September. But the hook is a favorite spot for many who like to walk and change spots according to wind. Tide is not a factor down there. I've done all-nighters down there and caught fish all night. Right now I'm just bait fishing in the back bays until I can get the boat out. A few people I know went down to Laurence Harbor and caught a few bass around 38" just last week. Keep in touch and send me a source I can email you some info. Kev
