Flounder fishing.. at the Mantoloking bridge (upper Barnaget bay) is beginning to break open due to increased water temps. Today we caught 14 flounder, all keepers, in 53 degree water. But this is 8 degrees warmer then last Thurs, the 23rd. when we caught 5 in the same area. The fish were fat and aggressive, and feeding heavy. With increasing water temps, it should break open earlier this year then prior years. I expect more positive catches in the next few weeks. The fish are definitly there in good numbers.. |
